Upbeat and genuine,
Hey there! I’m Susan Hohman, a voice actor happily stationed in the scenic wonderland of Bucks County, PA—perfectly squished between Philadelphia and Allentown.
My voice? Let’s just say it’s high-pitched, bright, and bubbling over with energy—think "Disney sidekick meets Saturday morning cartoon." I specialize in children's voices, bubbly teens, and—my personal favorite—the sassy, snarky, furry creature types. And yes, I can sound like an actual grown-up too. Singing lessons helped expand my range and gave me a few new tricks—so I’m just as comfy voicing the cool mom next door as I am the glittery fairy of The Kingdom of Gnomeville.
Studio central… literally!
My happy place is my home studio, verified by multiple audio pros (they gave it a thumbs up and everything). I rock a Neumann TLM102 mic, SSL2 interface, and Adobe Audition, all from my cozy creative cave. Just outside my booth is my other studio—where my alter ego, the Mixed Media Artist, comes out to play. I collage, I paint with cold wax and oil, and I even dabble in ancient arts like encaustic (a.k.a. painting with hot wax and yes, I wield a blowtorch—and yes that’s incredibly satisfying). In this photo I am using a technique called a shellac burn so have to do this outside. You can guess why.
A dream come true!
You might’ve heard me in animation, video games, e-learning, or commercials. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ripple Effects, Cole Powered Games, Neon Wild, Honey Bee Acres, DBOD, and Sunny Days Entertainment. Gotta tell you, getting to BE a Unicorn pretty much made my little girl dreams already come true. I mean imagine being a cat fanatic as I am and getting to voice a certain Kitty Fairy—glitter wings and all. My natural timbre combined with my many years of training has allowed me to really inhabit so many wonderful characters.
My Superpowers!
People used to ask me, “Is that your real voice?” like I’d rented it for the day. Honestly, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I could build a soundproof booth out of solid gold. What used to be an eyebrow-raiser is now my superpower—and I’m here to use it for good (and occasional mischief). I can say I am unforgettable. Well, my voice is at least! Can we use that to your project’s advantage? Do you want to stand out?
Let’s do it!
